Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
These terms govern your use of CrankHub - our website, web hub and app. By using the service you agree to them.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using CrankHub, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. The service
CrankHub is a community platform for cyclists - road cycling, mountain and off-road riding, gravel and e-bikes: finding rides and people to ride with, a chat and a live map for the participants of each ride, a community, a garage for your bikes, and news. In these terms, “ride” covers every group ride coordinated through the service, on any kind of bicycle, and “rider” covers everyone taking part.
3. At your own risk - not professional advice
Cycling, on the road and off it, is inherently risky and can lead to serious injury. Any information provided by the platform - guides, technical tips, service reminders, specifications - is general guidance only. Always confirm against your manufacturer's official manual and, where needed, a qualified bike mechanic. You ride and maintain your bike entirely at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own safety, your fitness and your equipment, including wearing a helmet. CrankHub is not responsible for any injury, damage or loss.
4. Rides are arranged between riders
CrankHub is a community platform for connecting cyclists. Rides are created and coordinated by the users themselves, and are not organized, managed, guided, supervised or insured by CrankHub.
The creator or initiator of a ride, or the “ride leader”, is an independent user - not an employee, representative, instructor or service provider acting on behalf of CrankHub. The title “leader” is operational only, and implies no training, experience, licence or fitness to lead the ride.
CrankHub does not vet the leader, the participants, the route, the difficulty level, the terrain conditions or the legality of the ride. Each participant decides for themselves whether a ride suits them, and is responsible for their own fitness, a roadworthy bicycle, a helmet and suitable protective gear, and for riding within the law - including the traffic rules for cyclists and, on an e-bike, the rules for electric bicycles (such as the minimum age, the motor power and speed limits, and where they may be ridden). CrankHub is not responsible for users' actions or for the outcome of any ride.
5. Manufacturer neutral
CrankHub is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any bicycle, e-bike, component or gear manufacturer. Brand and model names are used for identification and compatibility only.
6. Ride chats and your conduct in them
Each ride has a chat for the riders on it. Be respectful. Do not harass, threaten or abuse anyone, do not post sexual, hateful or unlawful content, do not send spam or advertising, and do not post other people's personal information. Messages are checked automatically against a list of prohibited words and may be refused. Any rider can report a message and block another rider, and we may remove a message, close a chat, or suspend an account that breaks these rules. We are not obliged to monitor conversations, and we do not read them as a matter of course - but we will look into anything that is reported.
7. Other riders' contact details
When you join a ride you may be shown other riders' phone numbers, and yours may be shown to them, so that the group can reach each other about that ride. Use those numbers for that purpose only. Do not add them to a mailing list, use them for marketing, pass them to anyone else, or contact a rider who has asked you not to. You can stop your own number from being shown at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy.
8. Sharing your location
Sharing your live position on a ride is entirely voluntary, is off unless you switch it on, and can be switched off at any time. It works only while the app is open on your screen, and a position that stops updating disappears from the map after a few minutes. The map is a convenience for finding the group you are riding with. It is not a tracking, safety or emergency service, it may be unavailable or inaccurate, and you must not rely on it to locate anyone in an emergency - call the emergency services.
9. Content
You are responsible for the content you submit, including messages and photos in ride chats. You keep ownership of it, and you grant us the permission needed to store it and show it to the riders it is addressed to. We may remove content that violates these terms or the rights of others.
10. No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CrankHub and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including anything arising from a ride you took part in, from contact with another rider, or from the presence, absence or inaccuracy of a position on the map.
12. Changes
We may update the service or these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
